OPERATION METEORITE AND REWILDING SOUTHERN AFRICA aims at bringing wildlife back to its rightful place in the African landscape to optimally benefit animals, nature and humans alike. In short: establish as many as possible safe haven destinations for wildlife in Southern Africa to assist rural communities to sensibly engage in COMMUNITY BASED NATURAL RESOURCE MANAGEMENT programmes.
ECO GROUP AFRICA, through its subsidiary EKO WILD (Pty) has adopted ‘Holistic Rhino Management Principles’ as its core approach to the most comprehensive rhino survival strategy to date. The aim is to translocate rhinos from poaching hotspots to safe havens within their natural habitat and range and optimise security, habitat, genetic, veterinary and financial risk management to ensure their long term survival on the planet.
