Theme Overview:

Conservation is not just about protecting what’s left. It’s about reimagining what’s possible.

“The Edge of Possibility” themed photo competition—calling for images that radiate hope, invention, and the future of our planet. We want to see radical regeneration, bold solutions, nature bouncing back, and people uniting across boundaries. These are the photos that ask:

“What if it’s not too late?”
“What if we can still win?”

This is not a competition about documenting destruction. It’s about capturing what rises from it.

How To Enter:

  • Submit your photo via the form.
  • Tell us more (Photographer, Name of Photo, Tell us more, Camera used, Where did you hear about us?).
  • Entry is free, but only the best and most theme-aligned images will be selected for display by GAAAP.
  • Processing takes 1–3 business days before potential upload.
  • Selected photos will be showcased on GAAAP’s website gallery and social media.
  • The winner will be chosen by an internal panel and announced in November 2025.

Competition Rules

  • Photos must powerfully align with the theme of hope, breakthrough, or future-facing conservation.
  • Eligible subjects include:
    – Ecological restoration or rewilding – Community-led or indigenous conservation – Sustainable technology or innovation – Unexpected moments of renewal in nature
  • Only a limited number of photographs that best reflect the competition’s theme will be selected for display on GAAAPs Website. Selection will be based on creativity, composition, originality, and relevance to the stated theme, as determined solely by the judging panel. Only photographers whose submissions are chosen for display will be contacted. If you do not receive notification, your photo was not selected. All decisions made by the judges are final and not subject to appeal.
  • Minimum resolution: 2000px wide, high-quality JPG/PNG.
  • All content must be original and owned by the photographer. No AI or stock submissions.
  • No staged, unethical, or exploitative imagery will be accepted.
  • Selection criteria: emotional impact, originality, clarity of vision, and alignment with theme. GAAAPs selection is final.
  • By submitting, you grant GAAAP the right to exhibit your photo online with proper credit for marketing and awareness creation purposes.
  • Allow 1–3 days for image review and upload if selected.

We welcome all conservation organizations committed to making a positive impact on our environment. To join our community of dedicated conservation projects, ensure you meet the following criteria:

Getting Started:

1. Eligibility

Must be a Certified NPC/NPO with a registered South African Bank Account   

Must have an approved PAYFAST Gateway Account

Legitimate Conservation Projects only

Commitment to Transparency

Verification Documents Ready (Refer to our verification guide below)

2. Verification Process

Our commitment to transparency means we verify each conservation organization. Submit the necessary verification documents through our secure portal.

3. Required Verification Documents

Organization Details:

  • Provide comprehensive information about your conservation organization, including its mission, projects, and impact.
  • Upload a valid registration certificate confirming your organization’s legal status.
 

Contact Information:

Submit accurate contact details, including a dedicated email address for communication.

Verification Documents:

  • Upload proof of identification for key organizational members.
  • Provide project-related documents for the initiatives you wish to showcase.
 

Verification Process:

Our team will carefully review your submission to verify its legitimacy and alignment with our mission. This process typically takes 3-5 business days.

4. What’s Next?

Once verified, your conservation project will be live on our platform. Donors can find, support, and contribute directly to your cause. Share you link and let the Fundraising begin!

5. Donation Process

Donors contribute directly to your conservation project through our platform. 

Secure Payment Gateway: We use PayFast (A Trusted Payment Gateway Service Provider) for seamless transactions. 

Transaction Fee: A 10% fee is deducted for GAAAP, plus the Payment Gateways Transaction fees. See below for more information.

6. Ongoing Support

We provide ongoing support and marketing to ensure your conservation efforts receive the attention they deserve. Regular updates keep our supporters informed and engaged. Join us in Creating a Sustainable Future for Our Planet!

Our Transaction Fee

A 10% transaction fee is applied to the donation amount donated on our platform to cover platform maintenance, marketing efforts, support, and further development. This helps us sustain and grow, ensuring we can continue supporting conservation efforts. 

Our Payment Gateways Transaction Fee

PayFast deducts a standard fee for processing payments securely.
